Lecture 25 - Brief Introduction to Matrix Mechanics and the Quantum Condition in Matrix Form

The formulation of quantum mechanics given by Heisenberg was cast properly in terms of the matrices for dynamical variables by Jordan, Born and Heisenberg. The quantum condition was also written in terms of matrices for the momentum and position matrices. This formulation is known as matrix mechanics. In this lecture we very briefly introduce the idea of matrix mechanics and discuss some properties of the matrices representing variables in quantum mechanics.
