Lecture 17 - Brief Description of a LASER

Having discussed that light can be amplified while passing through a medium with critical population difference in the number of atoms in ground- and excited-state, in this lecture we discuss what kind of level structure is needed to achieve LASER action. We end the lecture with a brief introduction to the properties of LASERS.
