9.04 Sensory Systems (Fall 2013, MIT OCW). Instructors: Professor Peter H. Schiller and Professor M. Christian Brown. This course examines the neural bases of sensory perception. The focus is on physiological and anatomical studies of the mammalian nervous system as well as behavioral studies of animals and humans. Topics covered include neural processing of interaural level differences in the lateral superior olive (LSO), projections of the superior olive to the inferior colliculus, room acoustics and the auditory pathways in the barn owl.
