9.04 Sensory Systems
9.04 Sensory Systems (Fall 2013, MIT OCW). Instructors: Professor Peter H. Schiller and Professor M. Christian Brown. This course examines the neural bases of sensory perception. The focus is on physiological and anatomical studies of the mammalian nervous system as well as behavioral studies of animals and humans. Topics include visual pattern, color and depth perception, auditory responses and sound localization, and somatosensory perception. (from ocw.mit.edu)
Lecture 20 - Sound Localization 1: Psychophysics and Neural Circuits |
Instructor: Chris Brown. This lecture covers sound localization using binaural cues, including interaural time or level differences. Also discussed is the neural processing of interaural time differences in the medial superior olive (MSO).
