9.04 Sensory Systems (Fall 2013, MIT OCW). Instructors: Professor Peter H. Schiller and Professor M. Christian Brown. This course examines the neural bases of sensory perception. The focus is on physiological and anatomical studies of the mammalian nervous system as well as behavioral studies of animals and humans. Instructor: Peter H. Schiller. This lecture covers form perception, including Gestalt principles of organization and the theories of form perception. Also discussed are the properties of spatial frequency analysis and cortical areas important to intermediate vision, subjective contours, and facial recognition.
