Great Artists with Tim Marlow is an art documentary series presented by Tim Marlow, looking at the lives and works of some of the greatest artists in history. The series aired in 2001 consists of 14 episodes, each of which deals with a different artist and his works. The artists covered by the series include Giotto, Leonardo, Durer, Michelangelo, Raphael, Titian, Bruegel, Rubens, Rembrandt, Vermeer, El Greco, Velazquez, Turner, and Van Gogh. Shot in over 50 museums, churches and palaces around the world, this series presents an introduction to the artists and their works.

This episode looks at the life and works of Peter Paul Rubens, featuring some of his works such as Rubens with Isabella Brant, The Descent from the Cross, and Het Pelsken. Rubens was the most celebrated painter of the early 17th century.
