Lecture 27 - Dry Friction: Dry Thrust Bearing and Belt Friction with Demonstration

In this lecture we consider two special cases of friction which are used in engineering application. Dry thrust bearing is used in applying brakes on rolling wheels of vehicles and best friction is used to drive pulleys. We calculate the amount of frictional forces generated in these.
