Housing Policy and Planning. Instructor: Prof. Uttam Kumar Roy, Department of Architecture and Planning, IIT Roorkee. Housing for All is the primary aim of the Indian Government for long. It has formulated Housing for All mission with a Sub-mission focused on technology to enhance the social housing delivery. Government has also been creating an enabling environment for private players through bringing reforms in land and financial sectors to increase overall housing supply. As a result, housing-market is facing a constant change. Under these changed circumstances it is challenging for professionals and academicians to deliver in the field of housing development without the sound knowledge of the fast changing housing policy dynamics and planning practice. The present course covers contemporary housing policy, reforms (land and finance), planning and strategy intervention at the city and sub-regional level.
