Let's Learn Japanese Basic I
Let's Learn Japanese is a video-based Japanese language study course for those who wish to learn the fundamentals of the Japanese language. It consists of 52 lessons, divided into two parts - Basic I (Lessons 1 - 26) and Basic II (Lessons 27 - 52). Each part consists of 26 lessons explaining grammatical structures, new words and cultural information about Japan. And also the lessons use a drama called Yan and the Japanese People.Let's Learn Japanese Basic I, made in the mid 1980's, consists of 26 lessons presented by Mary Althaus. The lessons are thirty minutes long and include the skits about Yan's life in Japan working as an architect and a number of short skits featuring Mine-san, Sugihara-san and Kaiho-san. The skits are designed to help memorize and practice the use of new words and grammatical structures and furthermore to show how the expressions being studied are used in a variety of situations.
Let's Learn Japanese Basic II, made in the mid 1990's, consists of 26 lessons presented by Tae Umino. The lessons are twenty five minutes long and include a number of short skits performed by Ando-san, Koyanagi-san and Kodama-san, as well as the skits about Yan's life in Japan as the Let's Learn Japanese Basic I does. The skits are designed to help learn Japanese more enjoyable and clarify the meaning of new expressions by showing how they can be used in a variety of situations.
