The Wonders of Electricity and Magnetism
Talk given for kids (and their parents). Prof. Walter Lewin covered quite thoroughly the basic concepts between Electricity and Magnetism with many demonstrations. He demonstrated a device (the Kelvin Water Dropper) that can create some 20,000 Volt using only running water. He charged a girl up to 100,000 Volt using a Van de Graaff generator. Her hair would spread and stand up - very funny. He beat a boy with fur to charge him up to some 20,000 Volt and he discharged him through a neon flash tube which lit up briefly.
