Life Story
Life Story is a six-part documentary series hosted by David Attenborough, revealing the challenges faced by individual animals at different stages of their lives.
Life Story takes us on the greatest of all adventures - the journey through life. It is a story that unites each of us with every animal on the planet, because we all set out on
this journey from the moment we are born.
For animals there is just one goal in life - to continue their bloodline in the form of offspring, the next best thing to immortality. The series shows how animals attempt to
overcome the challenges that face them at each of the six crucial stages of life as they strive towards ultimate success.

David Attenborough introduces the series from South Africa, where he watches meerkat pups emerging from their burrows. The program documents some of the threats faced by animals at the beginning of their lives.
Episode 2 - Growing Up
In the journey towards adulthood, a moment comes for all animals when they must strike out on their own. This episode focuses on the challenges faced by young animals as they gain independence.
Episode 3 - Home
Animals must find somewhere to live - a place that provides the necessities of life, shelter from the elements and a refuge from enemies. This program shows how animals go about establishing, using and defending a home.
Episode 4 - Power
Animals must try to gain a position of power in their worlds. The most powerful have best access to food and water, and they are also the most attractive to the opposite sex.
Episode 5 - Courtship
The competition to breed has created both the most extraordinary beauty and the most violent battles seen in nature.
Episode 6 - Parenthood
Animals attempt to rear their offspring. This takes extraordinary commitment, and a parent may even need to risk its own life for its offspring.
