The Story of the Guitar
The Story of the Guitar is a three-part BBC documentary series presented by Alan Yentob, telling of how the guitar became the world's favorite instrument. The first part explores the origins of guitar and the culture surrounding the instrument, and features interviews with notable players, including Bert Weedon, Pete Townshend and John Williams. The second part looks at how guitar evolved rapidly in the 1920s and 30s, when electrification solved the amplification problem. And in the last part, the guitarists including Tony Iommi, David Gilmour and Pete Townshend talk about how they find their sound, and how the guitar has changed their lives.
